Collezione Verzocchi

"I was born poor and had to interrupt my studies [...] I worked with tenacity, love, with frenzy, and it is precisely because of work, that has always been my reason for living, that I invited some painters to treat this subject in their own language." The entire ground floor of Palazzo Romagnoli is dedicated to the permanent exhibition of the prestigious Verzocchi Collection. This Collection was born from the will of an affirmed entrepreneur from Forli, Giuseppe Verzocchi. He donated the Collection to the Municipality of Forlì in 1961. It features seventy paintings by Italian artists of different generations and different artistic tendencies, from Guttuso to Donghi, from Vedova to De Chirico, united by a common thread: Work.
The singular enterprise of Giuseppe Verzocchi (Rome 1887 - Milan 1970), a free entrepreneur, passionate and tenacious construction industrialist, is illustrated not only through the exhibition of all the paintings, but is also narrated through a selection of documents, including photographs, objects and written testimonies.
