Church of San Pellegrino Laziosi The external portal, in stone and brick with typical gothic features of the Po Valley, is what remains of the original building, the old Church of Santa Maria dei Servi, built in the last quarter of the 12th century by the congregation of the Servi di Maria. The church underwent remarkable transformations in 1645, until it reached its present state, after the works in 1750. The seventeenth-century interior, strongly contrasting with the austere brick facade, has a basilica layout with three naves. In the right nave there is the Funeral Monument to Luffo Numai (1502), writer and politician, by Tommaso Fiamberti and Giovanni Ricci. The third chapel on the right is the eighteenth-century Chapel of San Pellegrino. It was designed by Giuseppe Merenda (1741-43) and it's rich in polychrome marbles and gold. Behind the altar there is the urn where the body of San Pellegrino is kept, while in the background there is the canvas by Simone Cantarini based on a drawing by Guido Reni "Cristo crocifisso che risana la gamba a San Pellegrino" (Christ crucified who heals the leg of San Pellegrino). At the end of the left nave, there is the fourteenth-century Sala del Capitolo, a late-medieval room restored in the 20th century, with a Crucifix, a fresco with grotesque lines attributed to Giuliano da Rimini, frescoes by Livio Agresti on the history of San Pellegrino and a Madonna della Providence.
